Not a Memory to EraseWhen I try to forget about you, the pain that burns in my heart becomes less,  I try to ease the hurt by extinguishing the memory,  I should have known from the beginning that you were not a memory to erase.   
Is it better to be numb of feelings or at least have the power to face the hurt?  I want you here with me; I want to feel you near,  Yet to always remember is to forever embrace the never-ebbing pain.  
 
Forced amnesia leaves me without the aching inside, but with nothing in its place,  There is no hurt… a vault too throbbing to approach,  Protected from the memories that I live becaus Not a Memory to Erase

6 days ago- he left to visit his buddy from college   
5 days ago- he called his mother just like he promised   
4 days ago- a party became the scene of an accident   
3 days ago- doctors worked while friends prayed   
2 days ago- a mother held the lifeless hand of her son   
yesterday- a brother's tears could not be comforted   
today- there's an empty chair at the table
